Maria Iva
Maria Iva is a Toronto-based landscape artist recognized for her expressive use of color and texture in oil and soft pastel. Inspired by the natural beauty of Ontario—its rocky shorelines, quiet marshes, and windswept pines—she creates vibrant, impressionistic works that capture the light, atmosphere, and emotional spirit of the land. Her distinctive palette knife technique brings energy and movement to her oils, while her pastels convey subtle harmony and depth. A dedicated outdoor painter, Maria often works en plein air, transforming direct experience into evocative studio pieces. She is an Elected Member of the Society of Canadian Artists and the Ontario Society of Artists, as well as a Master Signature–Eminent Pastelist Member of Pastel Artists Canada. In addition to exhibiting widely, Maria teaches painting across Ontario, sharing her passion for art and inspiring others to explore the beauty of the Canadian landscape.
