AOTC Artist
Brenda Brown
Since she was very young, Brenda loved creating art. She is self-taught and enjoys working with a variety of mediums including acrylic, oils, watercolour, scratchboard art, alcohol inks, coloured pencils and mixed media. Brenda enjoys participating in several art associations: Harbourside Painters of Canada, Fine Arts America, The Women’s Art Association of Canada, Arts on the Credit, and Visual Arts Mississauga.
Brenda has had many solo gallery shows including Women’s Art Association of Canada, Ruth Upjohn Gallery, Arts on the Credit Virtual Gallery and Unitarian Congregation. Brenda’s work has been chosen for many juried shows and many of her pieces hang in several international locations.
Two of her mixed media pieces were chosen for a juried show in Seoul Korea with the theme being “Global Warming”. Brenda created 2 amazing pieces using plastic caps from milk cartons (keeping plastic out of landfills) for the centre of her flowers and both pieces sold. Brenda feels very passionate about using landfill items in her mixed media art to do her small part to help with global warming. As a piece of Art that piece of plastic will live on for generations.
In Brenda’s own words: “I am passionate about what I do and I am confident it shows in my work!”
