Asha Hassan
Asha is a Canadian artist whose practice reflects a lifelong pursuit of storytelling through colour, place, and people. Working primarily with acrylics, she creates vibrant, layered compositions that capture the rhythm of modern Canadian life while weaving in elements of cultural memory, architecture, and landscape.
Raised in a family shaped by different geographies and traditions (Jamaican and Somali), Asha explores themes of identity, belonging, and everyday interactions. Her work serves as both an observation and a celebration, recording the ways people inhabit spaces that are shaped by history yet lived in the present.
With a professional background in graphic design, she brings both technical precision and creative freedom to her fine art practice. Her offerings span original artworks, prints, collaborative events, and community-based painting experiences.
