There is no particular style that I have embodied. My creations embody my spirit and the rich cultures I have absorbed from my travels around the world.
My influences are first and foremost everything I see, feel and experience. I do not carry a sketch book, but if I see an image or a picture or something that attracts my attention, I store this in my mind’s eye as an inspiration. Often they are left there and at other times they develop into an image which I then transfer on to my silk.
I have never liked to or have been able to explain a certain piece of work – whether it be wall art or a wearable. If as an artist you have transferred your imagination on silk, that is how you have visualized it and hopefully the piece speaks for itself and conveys a message. Each person takes something a little different from the same image and I’m happy with that.
In the creation of my work, I use pure silk and dyes. The work is then steamed to fix the colors.
