Silver, Spice and Everything Nice

Our 2017 art tour is coming to Port Credit’s Lakeshore in just a few weeks. You will find silver, silver jewellery that is. You will find spicy, colourful paintings and tons of fabulous, beautiful works of art in many different formats.

Two NEW silversmiths joining our art tour this year are Tammy Warren and Belinda Carmichael. Both work in silver, but their jewellery is quite different from one another.

“I want my jewellery to move with its wearer.  It should be a part of them and should complement their style. I love to know that my creations will be worn and enjoyed, ” says Warren.  She will often include semiprecious stones with her wire components to add colour and interest to her creations.  Warren loves to experiment with new ideas and techniques and has recently been experimenting with using silver sheet and exploring fold forming techniques. This continues to challenge and extend here creative process.

“I adore the classic and timesless qualities of sterling silver,  it’s such a versatile metal to work with,” quotes Carmichael. After graduating with a degree in Jewelry and Silversmithing, Carmichael went on to hone her skills under the wings of highly trained jewelers and gem setters in Birmingham’s Jewelry Quarter. She was fortunate to learn from the best! Since making Canada her new home, Carmichael has returned to the traditional jewelry bench on a mission to indulge in her passion for designing and creating beautiful personalized  jewelry with a sleek, classic feel, andwith a contemporary look.
