South Mississauga, along the Lakeshore corridor, will again be the scene of open artisans’ studios.

MISSISSAUGA, ON – Now in its fourth year, the Mississauga Artisan Studio Tour is focused on fine craft; presenting several new local artisans. New venues, along with studios from past years will welcome the public to meet with the makers and learn more about their particular processes. On the weekend of October 26th and 27th, 2013, six different studios will be bursting with more than 20 artisans presenting their latest work. The studios will be open from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

Since 2010, the Artisan Studio Tour has arranged to open artist’s studios along the Lakeshore corridor in south Mississauga. The public is invited to wander through the studios, talk with the artists and gain a deeper understanding of the processes involved in the various media. There is absolutely no cost involved. Visitors will discover craft demonstrations involving weaving, pottery, felting, wood carving, rug hooking and much more along the tour route. There is a map for the studio tour on our website www.artisanstudiotour.ca

Visitors will receive a “Tour Passport” at their first studio and when they have it initialled at all six, they will become eligible for one of several draw prizes donated by the artists.

All the artists participating in the 2013 tour are listed on our website with links to their sites or to their email addresses. Brochures will be available in various locations throughout south Mississauga, including all Mississauga libraries and community centres.
